COCO 500 RESTAURANT | SAN FRANCISCO
Eric Staten at SMWM | Project Designer | Schematic and Design Development

This project reinvented restaurant Bizou as a younger, sleeker, more active, and more flexible establishment. Key to the success of the project was tripling the size of the bar area while maintaining seat count in the restaurant area. A low partition separates the bar from parallel banquettes that accommodate flexible tops, and an area for large groups adjoins both spaces. A mirror-clad wall shields the busy wait station from the dining room and doubles the apparent volume of the space.
