DOUGLASS STREET RESIDENCE
Full Architectural Services
For this San Francisco residence, DOES Architecture reconfigured two floors of a poorly remodeled house to create light-filled spaces open to the adjacent living areas. The existing kitchen and step-down breakfast area was cramped and disconnected from the living and dining rooms. The new kitchen opens directly to the gardens, living areas, and spectacular downtown views at the back of the house. The master suite was remodeled to accommodate a new master bathroom that opens to the sleeping area, with the tub and open shower positioned to take advantage of the views and morning light. A frosted glass wall separates the shower, closet, and toilet compartment from the dressing area and vanities. All casework is locally made with sustainable bamboo doors and drawer fronts. Counters are white Caesarstone and the floor is wood-grain porcelain tile planks, heated in the bathroom. Lighting is energy-efficient compact fluorescent or LED and all plumbing fixtures are low-flow water-conserving fixtures.
Construction by Sing Wong Construction. Engineering By Himmati Engineering. Casework by New Century Cabinets.
