Corona Heights Modern Cottage Kitchen and Bath
Full Architectural Services
For a modern back-yard cottage in the Corona Heights neighborhood of San Francisco, DOES Architecture remodeled the kitchen and bath to make the most of the compact space and visually connect the different levels of the house that hinge on the kitchen. A wall of full-height painted cabinets that maximize the available storage and a matching cabinet for the compact European refrigerator bracket an "L" of walnut cabinets topped with a Caesarstone counter under an aluminum-trimmed window punched in a wall of grey limestone tile. A mobile island features a stainless steel waterfall counter with a built-in removable butcher block and pull-out trash cans. In the bathroom, a skylight walk-in shower is lined with a low-maintenance, grout-free "Tradilakt" limestone plaster finish that incorporates a built-in storage niche. A full-height pull-out cabinet provides storage for cleaning supplies and other bathroom sundries, and an Ann Sacks tile floor and baseboard continues into the shower to visually expand the space.
